Here is an Acrylic Painting I created in late 2021 and Early 2022. Overall I am very satisfied with this painting and its lively greens and pops of colours. I find it has a very Impressionistic look and feel to it.

I started this painting from a photograph that I took in July 2020 near the east parking lot of Guindon Park.

You can see the bright greens, and luscious summer foliage in this photo, as well as wildflowers in the foreground which I wanted to emphasize in the painting.

The image below is a drawing I created using Polycromos Pencils, I do exercises like this before starting a painting to get the feel of how the painting will go.

The second drawing was created with Faber Castell Pitt Pastels.

The image below was the ouline that I created for the painting, I then transfered the drawing to the canvas by rubbing graphite on the back of the drawing.

The photo below was the first photograph I took of the process of creating the painting, this was taken after 2 nights of working on it, around 3 hours into the process.

The photo below was taken after 4 nights of working on the painting, and 6 hours working on it.

The photo below was taken after 6 nights of working on this painting, and 9 hours total.

The photo below was taken after 8 nights of working on the painting, and 12 hours total.

The photo below was the last working photo I took of this painting. This was taken after 10 nights and 15 hours of working on the painting.

The last photo is the finished painting. It took 17 hours total to complete this painting.

One area where I feel I struggled with this painting, is with the reflections of the cattail grasses as well as the gradient in the foreground. However, Overall I am very satisfied with how this painting turned out.
