Rarely Photographed Creatures

Here are some creatures that are more difficult to photograph, and I do not have enough photos for a full post on any of these creatures, however I thought I would compile all my photos together for this post.

  1. Shawn, I thought the two preying mantis pix would be my favorites here until I saw your kingfisher. That is a brilliant shot. One of the world’s most iconic and hard-to-catch creatures. People spend a lifetime and never see one. Nicely done, lad. Thank you.

    1. I never really thought of that, the fact that people spend a lifetime to catch a glimpse of a Kingfisher. The Belted Kingfishers in Eastern North America are not quite that rare.

I see them almost every year, some years I might not see one.

But photographing them is another story. They always seem to be far away across a bay, and they wont go in any way close to a road or people. So I can see how people in Europe etc where there is less forest, spend decades trying to photograph a Kingfisher.
